You Are The Help Until Help Arrives
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

We continue to support POD Ops for the COVID vaccine at HCHD at the fairgrounds.
The Health Department is forecasting POD operations through at least August, if not September. A State Health Department survey found many primary care physicians were not in a position to deliver the vaccine. The Fairgrounds POD is a very popular location, and operations will continue for the near future.
Please understand, we honestly do not know when POD operations end and recommend not focusing on a month or date as the end date. It is very much a wait-and-see situation.

Shred Day is sponsored by Hamilton County Hazardous Waste at 1717 Pleasant St in Noblesville. There are two large trucks that shred documents and several hundred people will bring paperwork to be destroyed. As HCEM Volunteers, we will help those people get to the right place. It is a large area and can be confusing.
Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear shoes that are comfortable for standing. If you have your own, bring your traffic vest and traffic wand. If you don't have your own, they will be provided for you. Please arrive 15 minutes early and report to the green CERT tent to sign in and recieve your assignment.
We will be staying about 30 minutes after the shred trucks leave to help pick up cones. Please plan accordingly.
